Why V.V.I.S.?

…we just happen to be three women with houses on Via Vallevecchie, an old white road in rural Italy, and all passionate about Italian Style.

It’s amazing what three enthusiastic women can do when they have the support of one another. Individually we had all wanted to work within the world of fashion, style and design in some way, although our early career paths took us in totally different directions.

Saeideh, who works in design, has always wanted to be a fashion buyer.

Chloe, a lover of fashion, retrained as a Personal Stylist.

Then there’s me, Irené, a lover of fashion and everything Italian, who’s always had a little seed of regret for refusing a place at art school. According to my parents I would never get a job and anyone who went to art school was a dropout anyway!!!

So there we have it - the start of ValleVecchie Italian Style. We’re excited, slightly nervous and dare I say a little giggly!

Over numerous cups of coffee we set our criteria:

• We would source and support small artisans, local to Vallevecchie.

• The quality had to be exceptional, everything had to have a long life, definitely not throw away fashion.

• The leather items had to work for us. The bags should not only be beautiful to look at, but versatile to suit our lifestyles.

• Our packaging, as far as possible, should be biodegradable.

We soon found our first artisan. We must have appeared such a force, with all our questions and requests, but he wasn’t fazed! Choosing leathers, colours and designs came next, then finally the finished product - wow! We weren’t disappointed, we love every one of them. So much so, we felt each item had its own identity, we just had to name them...Italian names of course and now we talk of them as our friends!

The belts are made from the offcuts of the leathers used for the bags, they are so soft and tactile, but Chloe will talk more about those in our blogs.

All of our products are made in Italy but shipped from Hampshire and Worcestershire.

We have so many ideas bouncing around between us and would love you to follow the journey as we develop V.V.I.S.
It will be fun, there’ll be regular styling tips, videos and ideas from Chloe, as well as little ‘snippets’ of the true Italian lifestyle that Saeideh, Chloe and I love so much.
